Grupo Sonepar experts highlight important issues regarding ISO 9001 certification
With Group companies certified by the International Organization for Standardization with ISO 9001 - Quality Management System (QMS), Sonepar always seeks to reinforce the importance of the topic internally, and clarify the requirements for preventive actions to guarantee the certification and standardization of services or products.
To obtain the ISO certificate, it is necessary to go through several stages of implementing quality management, with the objective of improving the company's management, which can also be applied together with other operating standards.
The ISO 9001 process approach model is illustrated through the interaction between the following types of processes: Management Responsibility, Resource Management, Product Realization and Measurement, Analysis and Improvement.
According to Robinson de Oliveira Bulek, SR Quality analyst at DW, the first step in the implementation of the QMS is the identification of processes, the sequence in which they are developed and the interaction between them. “The QMS implemented according to the process approach, recommended by ISO 9001, takes into account the customers, as well as the activities (processes) that the organization develops to satisfy their requirements. The focus on the customer is one of the Quality Management principles to be considered ”, he says.
Danilo Lobo, Quality Auditor at Dimensional Centelha explains that the Quality area has a fundamental responsibility role in companies. “Quality is based on analyzing processes through qualitative and quantitative tools, seeking better performance at a low cost”, he comments.
The scope of an organization's Quality Management System aims to increase customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improving and ensuring compliance with its requirements. In cases of non-compliance with a QMS requirement, contract or other customer requirement, there is a need to take corrective actions to eliminate the causes of non-conformities and avoid their repetition and recurrence.
Marcos Roberto Valencio, head of Quality at Nortel, says that ISO 9001 promotes the fulfillment of organizational requirements, legislation, its customers, suppliers and other interested parties. “Continuous improvement comes from learning in the process. The problems detected are treated by the nature of the causes and the scope of the effects. In addition, executing improvement plans and proposing creative solutions improve a Quality Management System ”, he comments.
