The event featured special activities for the employees' children.
Open Doors is an initiative of Sonepar Brasil, which employees of their companies can invite family members to know their work place. This year, for the third edition of the event, Sonepar seized the celebration of Children's Day and brought a different proposal: invited the employees’ children between 3 and 12 years to participate in various interactive activities aligned with two strategic pillars of the Group: People and Planet. Thus arose the concept “Soneparque - For a better world”.
In order to provide good times between parents and children and to raise awareness of sustainability in a fun way, children became “agents of nature” and a cultural action launched the challenge for them to draw or paint on “how to make the world better”. The parents sent photos of the small artists and their works through a hotsite. More than 200 photos were received and took part in a draw, which distributed planting kits to foster environmental care.
A donation campaign also mobilized teams in all Group companies and raised more than 500 toys, delivered to needy institutions throughout Brazil.
On Friday, October 11, some units in different states still opened their doors and welcomed over 180 children at their spaces, who toured the company, allowing them to interact with their parents in the workplace. Some branches also had a "Kids Space" with playful activities, while the headquarters held a workshop for planting an urban garden - the "Soneparque"! - and had a play area.
All children in this age group received a gift from Sonepar in celebration of their day: a Soneparque kit with an activity book and various gifts. This was a simple way for our employees share their pride for the company and their sense of belonging with the loved ones.
Discussing relevant issues to different generations, thinking about the future and acting for our planet are part of Sonepar's daily life and contribute directly to the company being reference in everything it does!
